1968, Blackman mentions that remains of slipways could be seen in
the water at certain times in the 1960s. His 1968 article on ship-sheds
is very important as it revived the research in ship-sheds. Blackman
is the first researcher who worked specifically with the architecture
and function of the ship-sheds.
